The MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE is a Standing
Professional Committee of the American Association of Museums. In order to become a member, you or your institution must already be
or become a member of AAM. You can use AAM's application form to add Media and Technology membership to your AAM membership, or to join AAM with a Media and Technology membership added to your application.

Our Mission:
To
identify, access, and advocate a broad variety of program
uses for media and technology in helping museum professionals
meet the needs of their diverse publics.
Some of Our Activities Include:
- Serves
committee members and the museum profession by tracking
and advising on national policies, trends, issues, and activities
in technology and media, including video, film, multimedia,
and the digital environment
- Organizes
core program sessions, preconference workshops, and the
Marketplace of Ideas at the AAM Annual Meeting, where delegates
can observe, discuss, and participate in innovative applications
relating to various disciplines and museum roles
- Sponsors
the Annual MUSE Awards Competition to recognize excellence
in museum media and interactive programs nationally
- Provides
a link between the world of museums and that of media and
technology, exploring common interests and concerns
