Recognizing outstanding achievement in museum media, the AAM Media and Technology Committee announces the 19th annual MUSE awards competition.
As new technologies and applications — from wikis to Web 2.0 — continually reshape museums' conversations with their audiences, the Media and Technology Committee listened to its community and reshaped the MUSE awards competition as well. During the 2007 MUSE awards, we invited participants to define their own projects in ways that made sense to them, rather than fitting into an existing definition that might be out of date. From these definitions, the MUSE committee developed broad categories from which to judge. We hoped that this process would capture projects that defied the old standards or combined technologies in new and innovative ways. This year we will build on that set of categories, defined by the museum media community, that reflect the true scope of current museum media projects.
