The Media and Technology Standing Professional Committee of the American Association of Museums is pleased to announce the winners of the 2007 MUSE Awards
recognizing excellence in all varieties of media programs produced by or for museums.
Now in its eighteenth year, the MUSE Awards competition received almost 200 applications from a wide variety of museums in North America, Europe, Australia, and
Asia. Entries included audio, cell phone, and interactive handheld tours, interactive kiosks and multimedia installations, podcasts, blogs, games, websites,
online collection and image databases, videos, and e-mail marketing campaigns. This year, in an effort to capture projects that might defy the old standards or
combine technologies in new and innovative ways, participants were invited to assign their own entry category. From these descriptions, the MUSE committee
defined 10 new categories from which to judge. 39 projects are being honored, along with one special award for ingenuity.
Thirty-eight judges—museum and media professionals from across the country—were involved in the process of selecting the winners. The 2007 MUSE Awards competition
would not have achieved its goal and mission without the tremendous effort, commitment, and service of these judges.
Thank you judges and congratulations MUSE award winners!
